Choose the instrumentation and length, and I’ll collaborate with you to create a piece that highlights your ensemble’s unique qualities and fulfills your artistic vision.
Whether writing a small chamber piece or a large ensemble work, I pour the same care, artistry, and craftsmanship into every score.
The Red River Valley is a poetic look at the concept of farewells. As time moves forward and pushes us all into new chapters of our lives, it’s important to take time to reflect of those who helped bring us to where we are. Set against the backdrop of the majestic Red River, this documentary is a solemn and heartfelt thank you to those who made and make our lives possible.
This film marks the second collaboration between the Departments of Mass Communication and Music at MSU Texas. Professors Jonathon Quam and Thomas Wininger, working with the MSU Texas choirs, have produced this piece to showcase their respective programs and present the choir’s new calling card arrangement of the traditional cowboy song "The Red River Valley."
The music was arranged by Alex Gonzales, a recent MSU Texas graduate, and recorded by Tim Klingler. This new interpretation of the song soars over the immensely beautiful landscapes of North Texas as it’s performed by the MSU Texas choirs.
A Community of Voices
For the 2023 Interfaith Services, I had the honor of commissioning and composing Community of Voices, a collaborative performance that brought together choirs from across the Dallas area. This piece celebrates gratitude, unity, and faith, weaving together images of diversity, light, and hope into a tapestry of voices. It was designed to inspire reflection on what it means to stand hand in hand, grateful and united, making it perfect for interfaith gatherings, community celebrations, or concerts focused on peace and connection.
We’ll talk through your vision, including your goals, the event (if relevant), the ensemble size, and what you hope to achieve with the piece.
We’ll outline the instrumentation, duration, and level of difficulty, clarify rights, establish a timeline, and formalize everything with a contract.
You’ll receive the complete score and parts in your preferred formats, along with exclusive performance (and, if applicable, recording) rights for a set period.
